The story of how Croisette was created

 The idea behind Croisette came from how real estate consultants should really work: clear incentives, openness and humility, of course together with good knowledge. A local, regional and national mindset, which has now also become international. Teamwork. If a business model has incentives embedded in it that go from the client, to the company, to employees, this should stimulate growth. That was the idea.  

I’m Per Svensson and I was born in Malmö in 1990. I started my first company at the age of 11. It was an e-commerce business selling ice hockey equipment. And in 2015 I started the absolute biggest thing I’ve ever done – a company that today employs almost 300 people in the Nordic region. My real estate career started at Datscha, before I moved to Newsec and then took the big step myself. I probably didn’t know much about how the real estate market looked, and why it was like that, when I started Croisette, but I knew what it should look like.  

When Croisette was created, my view was that the region of Skåne had been a no-man’s land in the consulting world for too long. Thanks to that though, there was also an opportunity to be the first to have a nationwide presence, for real. Initially, some people didn’t understand what Croisette would do differently and what would make us successful. There were, and still are, also quite a few people who wondered why I chose pink as the company colour, a detail that is quite hard to miss if you know who we are. My answer to that is: “Because pink symbolises that everything is possible”.  

For those who did not understand what Croisette would do differently, I explained that we would build up a service portfolio of quality products, and that we were absolutely sure that quality work and a long-term approach, together with a high level of performance and innovative thinking, would introduce to the market a lot of what was currently missing. This applied to transaction consulting, valuation and leasing assignments. The renting out of commercial premises and continuous valuation of properties is, in the long run, a prerequisite for being able to accurately assess market rents, yield levels and trends, which are the parameters required to enable a well-functioning transaction business. We would therefore (initially) be a comprehensive consulting company within the real estate industry in the Öresund region, characterised by enthusiasm, a long-term approach and great expertise in our three areas of business. The three business areas we had when we first started have today increased to seven business areas. Our focus, which was then on the Öresund region, now includes most of Sweden as well as Iceland, Denmark and Finland. 

Ownership

The group is mostly owned and controlled by me, Per Svensson. Among others, I have also had Erik Selin with me from day one, as a passive minority owner and financier. In 2021, I also chose to make my faithful business companion Peter Bergquist vice president and co-owner, as he had played a decisive role in the company’s success since it was founded. In 2023, Knight Frank acquired shares in the company. 

Historical milestones

The milestones we have reached as part of the journey include, for example, our growth of 781 percent from 2015 to 2019, which resulted in us being named Gazelle of the Year in Skåne in 2020. Thanks to my fantastic colleagues at Croisette, I was also named winner of the Business Rookie of the Year award in Malmö in 2020 and was nominated as Growth Entrepreneur of the Year in 2020. Our international expansion also started in 2020, and we have now officially begun the journey towards the Croisette world takeover. I firmly believe in the vision that everything is possible and my goal is for us to become the world’s largest real estate consultant. This journey has started but still requires a lot of hard work.  

In 2022, Croisette bought the estate agency chain Våningen & Villan, and took the step into the private market. Croisette thus became the first Swedish commercial property consultant to get into the private sector.  

In 2023, Croisette established an international partnership with Knight Frank, the world’s largest private real estate consultant. The partnership enables Croisette to act as a global consultant, and Knight Frank can offer its global customers the highest quality consultancy services. The joint ambition with the partnership is to become by far the leading real estate consultant in the Nordic region

Croisette Real Estate Partner Croisette AB is founded. 4 employees, 1 office – Malmö (Sweden).

2016

Croisette starts providing data to Datscha. 6 employees – new head office in Malmö (Sweden).

2017

10 employees. 2 offices – Stockholm (Sweden). 

2018

15 employees. 3 offices – Gothenburg (Sweden).

2019

New area of business: Human Capital. 23 employees. 4 offices – Halmstad (Sweden). 

2020

New business areas: Digital Management, Insurance Advisory. 47 employees. 6 offices – Uppsala (Sweden), Reykjavik (Iceland).” 

2021

90 employees. 11 offices – Helsingborg, Jönköping, Kalmar and Västerås (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark).” 

2022

Croisette.home, acquisition of Våningen & Villan. 280+ employees. 35 offices (Finland).

2023

Croisette establishes an international partnership with Knight Frank.
